    Lard Question

    I trimmed quite a bit of white fat off of the butt I cooked yesterday and have it in a ziploc in the fridge. I was thinking about rendering it and saving the lard for future use. Has anybody ever done that who can offer some tips? Also, what uses can you suggest for the lard once I get it? All this talk on the other channel about duck fat has my head spinning.

      Biscuits, buttermilk or other are my favorite use of lard.

        In my grandparent's day, rendering is what you did. There are almost uncountable things your rendered fat can be used for. You can also just dice up the fat and use it that way too. No rules..
