Wonder if it is kind of like Cap Pinwheels I've gotten at Costco before. They take separate ribeye spinalis muscles and wrap them around to form a pinwheel. In this case, just separate 1/2 rib racks in a bag.
I can't tell but were there babybacks and spare racks in the same bag?

Backyard Jambo, T1000 Woodmaster, MAK 2 star, 14" & 22" WSM, 2x 22" Weber Kettle, Stoven, Hot Box Grill, Hasty Bake Ranger, RecTeq Bullseye, GMG Davy Crockett; Original Grilla and others I'm not remembering!
These are baby backs, just 2 halves in one cryovac bag. Just moved the PBC around to the back, just may have to hang a couple of packs.

I live alone and I do this to full rib racks every time. I cook one half for a 1 person meal and freeze the other for later.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
That is kinda weird - to come packed that way I mean.
I've been smoking ribs since the mid 90's myself, and never cut a rack of ribs in half for smoking until I bought my PBX, and decided that I had plenty of hooks, and could avoid risking the rib(s) a the bottom of the rack from getting burned from proximity to the fire. Now I am cutting both baby backs and spares in half for the PBX. If I do them on the kamado or kettle, I will keep them intact.
That said, not sure I will ever make ribs any way but the PBX again! They are coming out amazingly well, and cooking in half the time it takes me on my other cookers - I've had 2 rib cooks now on the PBX, and in both cases, both spares and baby backs have been done in 2.5 hours from when I hung them, with amazing bark and great flavor.

Weber MT Kettle, SnS, DnG, Easy Spin Stainless Steel Grate, Elevated SnS SS Cooking Grate, Vortex, Cajun Bandit Rotisserie, Oklahoma Joe Bronco, OKJ Bronco Triple Grate, Mini Weber Kettle ashtray Maverick XR-50, TimeStick Trio
I have never seen pork ribs packaged like that. I also like hanging 1/2 pork racks on my Bronco vrs laying whole flat on the Bronco grill grate or flat on the Weber Kettle w/SnS.
FWIW, I have never hung beef ribs, just laid flat on grill grate on either cooker.
