Now I always use the oven for bacon.

In the winter, it’s oven. In the spring, summer, and fall, it’s on the griddle. I can fit more bacon on the griddle, but the oven is a lot easier.

Thanks for the thread. I was about to cook bacon on the stove, now I'll try the oven.

IMO you aren’t living life to its fullest if you haven’t cooked bacon using either charcoal or wood splits in a stick burner. The keys is no smoke. Because of the fat and surface area it picks up way too much smoke. In the stick burner make sure the fire is so hot that the smoke isn’t visible and with charcoal make sure it’s fully lit (I usually grill with the top coals in the chimney barely lit). Cook indirect. The flavor is amazing.

I recommend running the pellet grill kind of hot to keep the smokiness light bbqLuv

Mosca, I’m still trying to wrap my head around how one can ever have enough bacon grease.
I confess that it is a foreign concept to me.

Idk. I save it and never use it for anything. 6 months later I toss it and start a new jar. I finally stopped saving it.

Mosca Refried beans, cornbread, and a variety of veggies taste so good sauteed in a bit of bacon.

It’s the oven for me unless it’s warm enough outside to use the griddle.

Sheet pan, foil, parchment paper, wire rack. The parchment paper eliminates any splatter and absorbs some of the grease for cleanup time.

Into the oven at 400 degrees until done. 20-30 minutes depending on the thickness of the bacon and how crispy you like it.

I don't use the oven unless I'm cooking more than one serving. It's not worth the time for just 8 slices. For just me, I use the air fryer.
