How Long Will a Ham Last if in the Package and Refrigerated
I have had a cooked and smoked spiral cut ham in the fridge since Christmas. I kept thinking I would smoke it as described in the recipe that's listed on the free site but It has never happened. I would like to finally try that this weekend but I wonder if the ham is still good. I think it should be but I don't have experience to know one way or the other. It's sealed in the heavy plastic and vacuum sealed.
Does anyone have experience and/or thought s on this?

I want to follow up on this thread. I picked up my free spiral ham from my grocery store last week. It was a spiral cut ham similar to the one I had at Christmas. The package had a date stamped that said "Use or freeze before June 4, 2024." That would be more than two months. So as a point of reference, this suggests that a ham should be good for about two months.
Bacon certainly lasts a long time. Cured pork can last a long time, looking at old school air dried hams, for instance. Fresh pork, even in cryovac, is more like kryptonite. I tried wet aging pork; it aged alright, right into the garbage. So I am gunshy re use by dates for all pork.

That is a good question.
Canned meat, fruit, and veggies will last 20+ years, so I believe.
I don't see why Ham, which is cooked, and sealed would not last a few months.
I think we'd all be surprised how long some meat sits at the processor, warehouse, and grocery store before it sell. That said, all you can really do is go by the use by/sell by dates.
