    cook bacon right

cook bacon right, or so he says,

Interesting, and his idea of doneness is spot on.

Extra crispy where it shatters when you bite it is wrong.
I prefer limp, my wife likes hers slightly crispy, so I have to cook
Both ways. (I also get the wide ends that she breaks off of her pcs that are a little more fat and not done enough for her)

PERFECT bacon to me has some chew to it, but also some parts that almost just melt in your mouth. Heavy notes of salt, black pepper, and smoke. Oakgrovebacon SheilaAnn

Many people are often afraid of failure, rejection, change, and the unknown.
My biggest fear: running out of bacon!

I prefer using the hooks, and hang in the Pit Barrel. Especially if I am smoking a brisket or poultry.
Adds that extra flavor to the meat.

How do you save the bacon drippings? Catch pan?

They drip into the fire and vaporize, giving off a good smoky flavor to the meat.

ID:	1536333 The Chud press is the best way to cook bacon I’ve ever tried. It’s easy and fast. If you like your bacon with some chew as I do it’s very fast. The picture was taken as I was finishing up three pounds of bacon so things are pretty messy. The grease catch pan at the front had been emptied twice at this point. Please tell me you save your bacon grease, lol. That also looks like a tortilla making machine too!

We used wagyu beef tallow to make tortillas last month on the press. They were by far the best I’ve ever had. If you leave the top down to heat for a few seconds between tortillas they press and cook from both sides at once. Again, fast and good. This is the most versatile tool I own.

Chud griddles are awesome, wish I had one

      #7
I do it on the griddle. It has all the advantages of the cast iron pan with none of the disadvantages. Second choice is the oven, but 15 minutes at 350° is a joke; my bacon is just starting to wrinkle there. 25 minutes at 425° is about right, for me.

Microwave will work for a couple pieces of bacon quickly, for use maybe in a salad, but the texture is odd and the flavor is missing something. And you have to clean the microwave after, even with the paper towel topper.

Cold oven set to 400° once preheated, let it go 5 minutes longer and then start checking. Can cook massive amounts all at once that way.

texastweeter did you have to scramble to come up with a beaten egg to death?
