Cooking two racks today on the Shirley. Pumped to be smoking again after a cold wet summer where it rained every weekend since the beginning of June. Since I haven't used my smokers they were full of mold. Had to do a clean-up and burn off of the BGE, Shirley, and while I was in cleaning mode I pulled apart my pellet cooker and cleaned that up.
The BGE was just a burn off so easy peasy. The pellet was a scrape and vacuum job. Just a chore that needed doing. The offset was a project. I heated her up to 400 then scrapped off all built up gunk inside. Scraped and poured water to steam off the crusty bits. When I emptied the drain valve there was about 2 gallons of black grease and crust, pretty gross. All good now ribs are on!
