    Rib Racks Wrong Size

Why are rib racks only 8 - 10 inches wide. My ribs are nearly 18 inches long. That leaves a lot of flop on the ends.
Am I missing something here? Anyway, I bought 2 racks, and end to end they will support a full rack of ribs.

Do you have the Weber rib racks or something similar? I use two of those like you describe.

Because most people do not buy full racks of ribs. They are designed for the masses not Pitmasters. Most grocers sell ribs by the half rack and that is what many people buy. Even if they buy the full rack, more times than not, they cut them in half prior to cooking.

          I've never seen half racks.

Yeah, guess I don’t know what to say. I see them all the time, must be a MN thing. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Bkhuna

          Spinaker - That's what I was thinking.

I absolutely agree, I tried a couple of different rib racks that were commercially sold - they were terrible. Even using babybacks, which are narrower, they were useless, St. Louis would be even worse.

Just hang them in your PBJ, PBC, PBX. No racks needed!

Another thing you can do is bend the ribs into a circle, meat side out, with the ends overlapping a little and secure with skewers. I used to fit 6 racks of St. Louis cut spares on a Weber Performer with SnS doing it this way.
