    Pigskit to Pigskit Burnt Ends?

    A waste of quality meat or genius idea? I have not had coffee yet so I don’t know.

      Major consideration! Pork belly is much much cheaper! Like $3.99 a pound at Costco versus $20 for a 1.25 to 1.75 pound pork brisket at Porter Road...

    I think it would be a waste. The pigsket is a nice juicy piece of meat, but I think it is more like a brisket flat than it is a point. Plus the treatment as burnt ends would mask that awesome porky flavor of the pigsket.

      Good points on price and flavor jfmorris and HawkerXP . I am usually the only one who eats pork in the house and the pigskit is my favorite so I order one for me every once in a while. This time, the exchange student may have some so that is a plus.

      I think what I will do is see if my kids like the pigskit this time around as well as the exchange student. If successful, I will order some Berkshire pork belly from Wild Forks (4 pounds versus the 10+ from Costco that we’d never be able to eat) for the next porky meal. If not, we’ll stick to the occasional pigskit.

        Sounds like a plan! I would do burnt ends or bacon with the pork belly though...

        I have a 3.75 pounder from WF I’m making burnt ends with later today!! So tasty……..
