    The new bacon????

Has anyone seen, heard of, or tried this?
Fully cooked pork sausage strips. I can see this being great on pizza and in omelets. Any other suggestions?Click image for larger version Name:	03C4B461-C6BE-4965-8925-A50D57AC17CB.jpeg Views:	0 Size:	4.31 MB ID:	1170372

I have tried these. My wife brought them home once. Just terrible. Will never buy again.

Ok. I shall find out soon as I plan on using a couple of strips for an omelette. Will give you my thoughts afterwards.
Curious. How did you cook them? As it says they’re fully cooked so I think just heating them up instead of actually cooking them in a pan or on the grill like they suggest might be a better option.

I cooked them in a skillet to brown a little bit. We found them flavorless except for a lot of salt. Weird texture too. Hey, you might love them.

First impression. Haven’t cooked it yet, but like you said. Not really a sausagey taste and the texture seems more like a bad ham. I’ll follow up after eating my omelette.

They lost me at "like bacon"
I would rather cook a pack of bacon, eat a few strips and the rest in the fridge for BLT tomorrow, a few heated next to the eggs next day, some crumpled into the potato salad the next day, and some crumpled onto salad next day, and repeat!

This is a Very Solid Bacon Strategy, I will adapt mine, accordingly...

      Many Thanks, Brother!

Will be interested to hear the outcome! But the knee jerk reaction is, if there were ever a food to which "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" would apply, it would have to be bacon...

You are absolutely right. After trying this out. I will not buy it again.

Attjack, you don't want fully cooked bacon in the shape of a sausage?

They are awful and have a terrible mouthfeel. Avoid and run away.

I agree. Has a bad ham texture. It won’t show up in my fridge again.

I did not care for them.

So the omelette looks great and smelled great, probably because of the amazing olive oil I used.
But that being said it kinda tasted ok but it tasted more like bad ham and had a rubbery texture.
I will not be buying this stuff again.
Anyway a couple of pics. Click image for larger version

Yeah. Thought it had potential. But hell no. I don’t think this stuff will be on the market very long.

If i wanted sausage in this form, I'd make or buy good bulk sausage and feed it through a jerky gun. That said, I'm fine crumbling it in dishes where I want small pieces.

Or a slicing machine. Crumbling is definitely the better option.

Anything labeled bacon that is not from the belly of a pig is a bad idea

GoDuke I forgot about beef bacon. Made some akaushi peppered beef bacon a while back. My wife's favorite sammich is now a baguette with fig jam, brie cheese, and beef bacon. All pressed and toasted in butter. Was killer!
