- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Wow! Great story, and it sounds like your friend the butcher just wants to bless you. Don't look a gift pig in the mouth...
Now, here's to hoping its a butchered hog, i.e. all the different parts, and not a frozen whole hog. If its the later, a pig roast is in your future... I bring that up because I was recently at Publix of all places, and did a double take at a whole 30-40 pound pig in their freezer section. I am think someone ordered it and didn't come pick it up or something. It was dressed and spreadeagled, shrink wrapped and frozen solid...Last edited by jfmorris; January 26, 2022, 09:43 AM.

It's all cut and wrapped. The funny thing is my friend was almost apologizing because it was done to the original customer's instructions! As you said, I ain't looking that gift hog in the mouth. I mean, how many ways are there to cut up a hog. Hams, chops, steaks, ribs, bacon, sausage.....pretty basic stuff. No whole belly, but you won't hear me complain!

I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
