    What’s Your Favorite Frozen Pizza?

As most of you might know, I’m a talented home made pizza chef, with many of my creations garnering world wide acclaim….🐂💩 ….😂 In reality, the closest I come to home made is adding a few toppings to doctor up a frozen pizza. Anyway, I was in the mood for some pizza tonight and googled Best Frozen Pizza. One of the results praised the DiGiorno Rising Crust version. Bought it today and had it tonight, was not impressed. Even after doctoring it up with sliced jalapeños, red onion and a few slices of salami it was just…..ok. The dough seemed a little chewy and had no flavor. Even their own meat toppings were bland to me. Won’t buy again. My favorite frozen pizzas so far are the Motor City Detroit Style Pizza, and Screamin’ Sicilian brand. I also liked a Paul Newman’s pizza I tried once, don’t remember what flavor. Anyway, I was wondering what you guys like in a frozen pizza. I’d like to try some new suggestions from the people I trust.

I made DiGiorno Stuffed Crusts the other day for my boys & I, and I gotta say they were DARN good. Favorite, not sure, probably not, but yummy.

The best frozen pizza I have had was leftover Detroit style pizza from a local restaurant. I haven't bought a frozen pizza in many years.

I have heard that one of the frozen 'zas that Costco sells is very good, but it comes in a 2 pack, so I haven't tried it. Can't remember which one though.

Costco’s Motor City Detroit style by far.

It’s really good for frozen, I was a little surprised the first time I tried it. Costco was where I bought my first one also. Since then I’ve found it sold at a few other stores as well…..HEB and Walmart carry it too.

Panhead John You already mentioned the pizza, but our favorite frozen is the Motor City Pizza Co. Nothing really beats a good restaurant pizza. though. When we don't want to want to go out, I would choose Papa Murphy's over places like Domino's, Marco's, Pizza Hut etc. for quick at-home pizza.

Lots of Motor City fans here!

We have a chain of gas stations/convenience stores here in WI called Kwik Trip. Yes, that’s how they spell it. Anyway, they have a house brand frozen Za that’s great. We like the one they call “The Meat Sweats”. It’s basically a sausage and pepperoni with triple meat and extra cheese. We get that one often.

I go to KT almost everyday. I love their stores they kill it. And I can get a Nitro cold brew for $1.29. Great deal considering they are $4.99 at Caribou! KT is the best by far as far as C-Stores go.

I became aware of Brew Pub Pizza a couple years ago, and it’s the best I’ve had.

I’d vote again for Motor City Detroit style.

However, I feel like we need to come up with some good homemade pizzas in under 30 minutes for PJ. Is that even feasible?

Panhead John I’d keep the dice rolling on HEB. I am sure they have a HEB pizza sauce right? Otherwise I’d be inclined to pick one close by to the store-bought pizza crust because they usually have a little section of “recommended” ones that are not big brands.

Big brands will be sickly sweet IMO.

I'm so jealous you Texans have HEB the more I keep hearing about it. At least we'll have a Buc-ees in the Valley (West Side) next year.

I’ll second the Motor City. My favorite was the cheeseburger one with pickles on it but they stopped carrying that version at my Walmart. Scremning Sicilian and Newman’s Own are decent as well.

As a teenager or twenty something I loved those cheap Totino’s or whatever they were called with their thin crispy crust.

I didn’t know Norwegians spelled pizza the same way we do…..🥸

I haven’t had a frozen pizza in years. Not that I’m against them, but…

there just isn’t any room in the freezer.

I used to eat three or four of those things a week but the transfat kept my LDL's too high.

Tombstone, Totino's, Tony's, the cheap brand that just has a piece of cardboard underneath in a plastic wrap, etc...always adding extra pepperoni.

I might eat one every 3 months now.

Home Run Inn, I like the uniqueness of their fermentation.

Richard Chrz right? It’s what we grew up on. So it finally made it out here to SoCal. I got so excited…. Brought two home…. 🤢🤢🤢

Maybe it’s a different recipe for frozen? It just wasn’t the same……

It is very much a different recipe than the restaurant, it really has to be is my experience so far from developing my own.. I have not eaten one in several years though, so I’m not sure anymore, but was always the one we grabbed,

I would love to make them from scratch every time, but my schedule just doesn’t permit it. When feeding the fam we usually just head to our local pizza house/brew pub that’s less than a mile from our house.

But to satisfy our boys when they want a quick meal we keep some frozen cheese pizzas from Costco on hand - I think it’s a Kirkland brand. They’re actually not too bad for frozen pizza. If I’m gonna have some I’ll add some toppings.

Just looked at the Costco app for details about the ones we get and I see they have some frozen Chicago deep dish from Giordano’s….I wonder if they’re any good. They’re pretty pricey for a frozen pie…so I’m guessing they’re a legit Chicago deep dish. Hmm….might have to give it a go. Sure a lot cheaper than a plane ticket to the Windy City!
