Karu 16 Question

G,day Smokers,
I bit the bullet on a Karu 16 the other day. Awaiting a couple things to get her up and cooking. I will be using her underneath a pergola that has a plastic type roof covering. The pergola is pretty high. I'm guessing the roof will be about 8' from the top of the chimney to the bottom of the roof covering. This would seem to be a sufficient head space to allow the heat to dissipate from the chimney. Anybody using the Karu 16 that can comment? Thanks. Excited to get her up and running.

I have the Fyra 12, it's pellet fuled, and I'm wondering the same thing only my vinyl sunsetter awning is about 4 feet above the chimney ! Ibelieve I read somewhere that if your using the gas option for your Karu then using under a cover or even indoors is ok! Not sure that's accurate! I fired mine up for the first time and didin't see any sparks coming out the chimney! Is that typical with pellet grills and smokers? Anyway, maybe more Oonie owners will chime in for both of our ovens.

I have the Ooni Kari 12 that runs on lump charcoal and wood. I kept it on my outdoor counter which was 4 feet below my soffit. My issue was soot. I’d only used it a few times but it definitely dirtied my white soffit. I ended up buying the Ooni pizza cart and love it. Not only did it free up counter space but I now roll it over to the side of my garage and out of the way. I looked at other options for a cart but this one checked all of my boxes.

My opinion is that 8 ft of clearance is more than adequate! I run a beach umbrella over the top of my PK360 and there's only about 3 ft of clearance on that.
