    To t his point: I have both a wood and metal peel, and I find the wood one less sticky. YMMV

    If you watch most pros, they use the wood one for launching (with semolina) and a metal one for retrieving.

      Likewise, while not a pro by any means, I use wood for launching and metal for retrieving

        +1 - I do the same on my Ooni. Also, it took a few ugly pizzas to season the Ooni stone.

      My first Ooni pizzas were disasters too. Hang in there, you'll get it. I was going to give you some pointers, but most of them have been covered here by other pit masters. So I'll just give you this advice... don't look into the front of your Ooni when lighting it up (assuming you have a propane oven)... https://youtu.be/4w1RlX0IIKc
