    Baking Steel Sale

Since we're all on about pizza I thought I'd share what came across my email a few minutes ago. I use mine often and it's a pizza making machine, better than a stone IMHO. Huskee it even has Free Shipping!!

Edit: Sorry folks, in the email was the coupon code springsteel20 for 20% off, I just missed that it wasn't on the site. My sincerest apologies.

Thanks. One of sons is having a birthday next week so this was timely. One on the way to him.

    Question:

Have you ever used this over a live fire for pizza (like over a vortex) and what about for searing a steak or whatever?

I use a round one in my Kamado in place of a ceramic heat deflector. I would think it will work just great. I haven't tried pizza or searing on mine because I don't bother to keep it clean. It's pretty crusted with soot and cooked-on drippings, but I consider it an ongoing flavor source.

I have used it over open fire and it gets screaming hot, too hot for a pizza but great for searing.

Looks like I missed it? There wasn’t a sale price listed or I’m doing something wrong.

And today I got an email from another company with what some might be attracted to. It's slightly larger, half again thicker, and correspondingly heavier in weight, and comes with a stainless peel...............for just a bit less............so there's your sale if that's what floats yer boat; Pizza Steel Hack – BBQ Hack

Absolutely a steel deck, far superior to the stone from my experience.

I have a cast iron pizza pan. Is the steel better than that?

I don't know, but the steel one is superior to the stone.
