Well great segway into my pellet cooker experience this weekend. Set up the new Sear Daddy grilling device and seared off some cowboy steaks and sausages to perfection on Saturday night. Installed the Heavy D smoker full of mesquite mini logs on Sunday and smoked an 8# Berkshire pork butt from Porter Road, which turned out to be one of the best I've done. I remember the last thing I did was cover my pellet girl with her cover cuz rain was a comin' and thanked her for a weekend of perfect cooking.

Saturday I lit the PBC and did a bone in Turkey Breast. My Wife said she could smell the smoke on me. I told her I'd just light some charcoal and get myself all full of that wonderful charcoal smell for our Daughters Wedding ( skipsdaughter ) in a few weeks.
Troutman - I think I have friends (maybe?), but everybody's too busy to hang out. But when I tell them I'm lighting a fire, they show up. On the other hand, sounds like CaptainMike should be my new best friend!
Some of my local friends are chatting about this article. Several have mentioned how the aroma of something baking can be really comforting and can trigger memories of good times. I suspect the odor of smoking and grilling hits that spot too.
