Feeling lazy today...use the gasser for fajitas...?

I have a couple hours. Shrimp, steak and chicken. Grilling onions and peppers.

I can do them on charcoal, the pellet pooper or the gasser...

On the gasser I have cast iron or straight grill. Talk me out of the lazy way

Can't help you, last night I made fajitas on the kitchen stove...

Use my gasser all the time so I can't help you.

I love my gasser, most especially when I'm lazy. Meathead says that for short cooks, charcoal and/or wood add virtually no flavor. That's always my excuse. Maybe it will work for you.

OK - go with the charcoal just because I don't have a gasser and can't let you off that easy.

I second this. Charcoal! Charcoal! Charcoal!

Just grate a couple briquettes into the pan and use your gasser.

Isn’t the whole point of having a gasser to be able to grill when you’re feeling lazy? I say go for it!

I got plenty of color on the peppers and onions. Big heavy cast iron plate. was great for searing

Used Kenji's fajita marinade for the chicken and beef for 24 hours... cooked slow till almost done and seared like crazy.

Added pico, guac, a velveeta/sausage/tomatoe/beef dip, squash side dish, tortillas.

              All good.

But now I want to smoke something.

Well I guess you cook is well over with by now but I vote gasser as well. My Weber Summit has the flavorizor bars that heat up, vaporize the meat drippings and actually add some flavor back into the meat. That plus a really decent char and I agree that between charcoal and gas for short cooks it's not worth the hassle.

Nothing wrong with using the gasser. I throw some wood chunks over the burner to throw some smoke into the mix.

I did this at my uncle's house this weekend. (No smoker, only a gasser) I threw a foil pan of mesquite under the grates and let it rip! I got some good quick some on a chuckle before throwing it in some chili!

Cooking shouldn't have to feel like a chore or be unenjoyable.... If today using a gasser keeps it from feeling like a chore and that extra time brings some joy to your day... then use the gasser!

                      Gassers are our friends too.
