Your BEST Go To items for Fall Barbeque, and a chance to vote too!

I like BBQing now and early winter best - baseball post season and NFL games that are becoming meaningful. Early spring finds me with small fires for CI breakfasts in the field, and hopefully the day's catch for dinner. That said, there are staples in the fridge that come from smoking all year long.

This makes me wonder if certain dishes come out best during particular seasons. Sometimes it's hard to start a fire when it's already over 100F. Sometimes it's hard to keep one going when it's 20F.

    What are all y'all thinking?

Fall is always the best. Hogs have reached size and are ready for butchering. Temps are cool enough to smoke bacon and sausage. Deer season is in. Rabbit season is in. Grouse season is in. And the lake trout are running.

You need to add an all of the above option here. Don't care what time of the year it is, I love to BBQ!

Yep. When I want to smoke or grill something, it's the right season.

I still think happy thoughts about the thick-cut ribeyes I grilled in the falling snow for this past New Year's Eve.

That's a little like saying you don't have a favorite child. You love them all but you know there is that one that you like just a little better than the rest.

      I am just kidding

All year round for me but being in the Northeast I savor summer. No coat, don't have to shovel my way to the grills. It's light early and stays light late so I'm not fumbling with headlights. Fall is great because it's less humid and hot and a frost has killed off the skeeters.

Football food is great and my son loves a football party but summer takes it for me.

We're going into summer so I abstain.
Will say though the weather in PE allows for all year round cooking.
        Welcome back stranger.

All. Year. Long! But hot weather is the least fun.

I too back it down a little in the summer, but over 100* or below 0* it's one of those activities that makes me happy.
By the way I voted for them all.

Fall for me. The weather is most to my liking and long cooks give me an excuse to "monitor cooker temps" while watching football all day

Every chance I get is when I like to BBQ/Grill. I'm going to have to flip a coin a few times to narrow it down to a vote for one.

In Arizona, the valley at least, bbq can happen all year long. It’s no fun when it’s 110+ but that’s what remote temp monitoring is for.

I love to be out there cooking all year, but around here it’s much more pleasant when it’s not so stupid hot. 🙄😥

I picked Spring and Fall, although I am cooking outdoors all year long here in NC. But its nice when the temps are moderate.

Temps here are usually mild, I just enjoy it when it’s not raining .

Fall is my favorite season. Not too hot, not too cold.

One of my favorite parts of fall is the sweet corn harvest. I love this Grilled Sweet Corn Casserole. A friend of mine has a farm and his mom would always make this for us when I was growing up and later when I was on the crew. This was my favorite thing she made in the fall. (Loved it so much I pushed MH to add it to the recipes list)

I also love to make anything pork in the fall. Ribs and pork belly are my favorites.

The recipe was re written by Dave, so he may have made some edits. I always go direct heat, over a live fire. Then move to the cutting board when you see char developing on the corn kernels. I cut the kernels off the cob and add them to the casserole. MBMorgan Give it a try.
