SmokeyGator much like stainless has different grades that you see in the grills you purchase, 304, 310, 317. Aluminum has different grades of resistance to salt and water. Starting at 1100 and going to the 7000's. Marine aluminum alloy is 5052 and is highly resistant to salt water. Foil is 2011 or 2024 and has very little resistant to salt water. It all depends on what alloys are added to raw aluminum before the ingot is cast.

I just tent parchment paper over the meat if the fridge is full to reduce chances of cross contamination. Most of the aluminum CG boats I worked on were painted and had zinc s on the hull to take the reactive damage caused by any electrolysis.
