I had mine out years ago the old fashion way. Here’s my advice stay away from fried foods. Everyone is different, so what I’m telling you about myself may not apply to you. I can still eat pulled pork, brisket, ribs, hamburgers and pretty much whatever I can cook on the grill. If I take in too much grease I get the runs. Other than that everything is fine. But keep in mind, everyone’s different. It is going to be a journey, but it won’t take you long to figure it out.

Best wishes for a smooth operation and a speedy recovery. Ask the doctors and nurses what kinds of food will be best for you. One or more of them undoubtedly will come up with some new ideas for you.
BTW, aren't you a little (or lot) young for that kind of surgery?

      Best regards,
      Jim

Weirdly, I found out an hour ago that my dad needs to have his gall bladder removed. Good info.

I hope all goes well with your surgery. As to your question, pork and beef loin and tenderloin are low in fat.

Best of luck tomorrow .I'd go with suggestions already posted. Fish, lean pork, grilled vegetables . Ok with the Doctor though.

Surgery went fine guys. Doctor said its more important to stick to small portions than stick to certain foods. Ill be staying away from fried foods for a while, but im thinking some ribs on saturday are going to happen i ate some stuff yesterday that used to kill me, no issues now. just sore. feels like i did 1000 crunches.

I've had many surgeries. A strange side effect is reduced appetite, usually lasting six weeks to two months. I would still enjoy food, but feel satisfied with about half as much. Smaller portions won't be a problem.

                      I'm glad it went well!

Hey, look at my profile picture.

All the antibiotics kill off your gut bacteria, and you start from the baseline. As your stomach flora return to normal, your pattern changes back. That's my theory, anyhow.

I was going to jump on board and wish you luck on that surgery. Better late than never. I’m glad it went well for you! Now, do you like seafood? I do. Surf and turf is a great balance, IMHO. Best of luck to you Brother. BTW, I can stand to lose a few pounds myself.

I appreciate that, I need to find a low cost fish that isnt that nasty tilapia stuff.

Keltonfoss Lol on that tilapia stuff! That’s fresh water fish, which I like as long as it’s fried catfish (and grits). Got that in MT? Low cost? Now that’s a tuff one! I hope you’re feeling well and can have some good Q soon. Wanna come to Flawida? Ill be cookin’ soon 😎.
