Stand mixer with the paddle attachment is my go to. Start with fist sized chunks of meat and be careful to not over mix. You can shred a whole pork butt in under 5 minutes. Don't over mix!

I have a pair of claws brand new in the new in the box. Been trying to give them away for years.

      Posted from my phone .

I bought some claws super cheap last year. Used 'em once... I mean they were super cheap, and I did want to try them, but man, was it awkward. Maybe a better pair would've been ok? I dunno. Like folks have already said, cotton gloves with nitrile over top, or a dedicated pair with a cotton lining that can be washed.

        I might try chopping, though.

When I first joined the pit, someone was using this "drill bit" to do the job. Of course I had to get one.

I have used it a few times over the years. It's fun to use, does a great job, and works best whent when breaking down smoked PBs for a crowd. I never used a bowl that shallow, though. Just saying.

The claws work OK, but I wish I’d heard about the double glove solution first.

              I use two large forks.

I like using my hands with the white cotton gloves and food safe latex gloves over them. I like how I can separate the different muscles and leave the 'pulls' a little larger so you get multiple textures in one bite as well as pull out larger chunks of fat that are not as appetizing. Claws/forks/etc are too cumbersome

When making pulled pork use your hands, cotton gloves under nytril gloves. I fine you get a better feel of any tissue I don't want to eat.
"Bear Claws" work well for pilling meat.

Isn't this question a bit risque for AR? ;-)
