I'm one of those weirdos that hasn't tracked a cook in years. I realized that I rarely would ever go back to study a cook so I just stopped. Most cooks I know the rough timing and temps I prefer to use. [shrug]

Count me in as a weirdo then. The odds of me going back to a previous cook is almost nil.
      No…it’s absolutely nil.
As long as I can remember a rough idea of the time…I’m good.

I mean, I’m not going to start a brisket at noon with any expectations of feeding people at 4 pm. But seeing that any natural/organic product will certainly be different from any other…a rough idea will get me there.

+1 on being a weirdo. Years ago I jotted notes down like time & temp on my first couple of brisket cooks on a post-it.

surfdog in response to the question about scaling (new comment so I can add screen shots), I am referring to the feature in Paprika app. CFS recipe as written and then scaled the recipe by 1/2. BUT paprika will only scale the bolder number in front of the ingredient. EX: 2 cups (200g) something will only read 1 cup(200g) something when scaled to 1/2. Learned that lesson the hard way…..

Yeah, I just typed in my fave Bloody Mary recipe…and to check it, I scaled it 2x. But instead of now showing that I needed 16oz of vodka, Paprika changed it to 1 pound. LOL

Oh no!!! Sometimes, though, I will just go to the bottom of the ingredients list and just write out the scaled amounts to avoid using the wrong measurements.
