    January Team cook?

    Since SheilaAnn has decided to not run the team cook anymore, I'm going to nominate this recipe for the January Team Cook. Vote early, and if your in the Chicago Metro area vote often, for this suggestion.



    The ingredients and techniques are easily accessible, and there is room in the recipe for customization.

    If the yes votes out number the the no's, then I guess it can be semi-official.

      This is a great recipe that I've done several times. I'm not a big 'leftovers' guy, but these leftovers are fantastic.

    Looks good, I would give it a try but I know my wife wouldn't touch it. I'll refrain from voting as I don't want to be negative on it. Thanks for suggesting this and hopefully it's a go.

        I found the same problem but then I found out there’s actually 2 links here. Click on the TOP LINK only and it will take you straight to the recipe. WI Bubba , can you delete the 2nd [bottom] link?

        EDIT: Well, now both of the links work for me, either one will take you straight to the recipe.

        Panhead John I just copy/pasted the link out of the address bar and interweb magic did the rest. I'm not sure how I would go about changing it. And if you were doing your job and taking over the Team Cook, I wouldn't have to do it for you. Just saying...

      WI Bubba I wish you’d go back to Willxfmr, I hate these long ass screen names. 😂 Anyway, I don’t mind doing the January Team Cook except I had something different in mind. But, if you want to do your meatloaf cook this month, go for it. Or, you or whoever, can do it next month, doesn’t make me any difference at all. I do like your idea because I’ve never made meatloaf in my life, and that recipe looks great! You were the first to post an idea, so I’ll just let you decide.

      On this note, I think captainlee had a good idea this morning in another Group Cook post. He said we could take turns each month, there might be others who’d like to do one of these. If someone has a recipe they’d like to do, they could do the Team Cook that month themselves. Whoever does the group cooks will have some big shoes to fill! SheilaAnn did an exceptional job with it last year, both with the idea of it and its implementation. Thank you SA for all your hard work!

      If we spread out the monthly cooks to different members, maybe we could let them choose the month they’d like to do it….if it's not already taken. Just an idea. If there’s no one that volunteers for a particular month, I don’t mind stepping in to do it. What do y’all think?

          I'm in. Already got some homemade Italian sausage and I have some meat sauce made from garden fresh tomatoes which I plan to sub for the marinara; although that marinara recipe looks great.

            I think making your own sausage should definitely be part of the bonus cook. It's a struggle to find a good Italian sausage in stores near me.

            You can make it anytime that works for you, and then post your cook on the reveal date that is yet to be determined. Early voting looks like this is going to be a go, and the worst that can happen is you make one of Meatheads recipes and hopefully enjoy a good meal. So have at it anytime.

          Probably will be easier to source some ingredients than some previous team cooks. I already have a bunch of Larks and Sparrows in the freezer just waiting for their time to shine. 🙂

            I'm not saying that I picked a meatloaf in response to some of the previous choices, but I'm also not saying that it's not part of the reasoning either.
