Yeah, I'd admit, even being north of the Mason Dixon line, I'd skip the beans. Also, I save the hotdogs for the kids. I'd definitely use Lil' Smokies, skip the catsup, use BBQ sauce instead, and not worry too much about chili sauce.
If I did use this recipe, it would be yellow mustard instead of catsup.
Yeah, 20+ years living in Texas, I have never seen a casserole like that, but that doesn't mean somebody there wasn't making it.
Doesn't look remotely appetizing to me, but I bet a lot of kids would eat that up at a party.
Maybe it was the invention of a midwestern transplant who decided the Tater Tot Hotdish needed hotdogs with chili in it. 🤔
