    Too stinkin’ hot!

So it’s been at or near 100° in my back yard for weeks now. I’m not inclined at my age and health to be out there grilling/smoking. I love cooking in the cold, but not this heat. Am I the only wuss here?

Heck no Larry, you ain’t the only one. Just this past weekend I purposely didn’t grill outside because it’s just too damn hot. I cook just outside my garage door surrounded by concrete, so it’s even worse than in a shaded backyard. I haven’t used my griddle in a long time either. The heat it puts out makes it miserable trying to use it in my garage. So to sum it up, you aren’t the only wuss here. This was from yesterday…….

Heck no. I’m a total wuss about extreme heat or cold weather cooking. So don’t feel bad at all.

I refrained from working on my '08 Lincoln yesterday because of the heat and sun. I might wait another month to do the work unless we get some overcast days on the weekend. Today was light overcast and would have been perfect for car work but I had regular work instead.

I did grill last night: shrimp skewers. It didn't take long and I waited for the shade to cover the grill area. This is my hot weather cook method (for faster cooking foods): Put charcoal in chimney then light the tumbleweed under it. Go inside and take a drink of beer. Look out window. Pour coals into grill when flames can be seen. Go inside and take a drink of beer. Let coals stabilize and bring shrimp out. Grill shrimp, maybe 4-5 minutes, while drinking beer. Pull shrimp, go inside. Eat shrimp and drink beer.

I’m just marking you all as intelligent with a good dose of common sense.

Not that hot here but well into the 80 s. Our issue is no rain, extreme drought and high winds. The winds have made this a year that I haven't even used my griddle yet. Challenging to use the smoker or bbq grill. We have fires all.over the state.

We have had over 20 days with temps above 90 this season. Personally I love cooking and working outside in the heat. To be fair Texas heat and Massachusetts heat are different worlds. I could handle the hydration part of your routine without a problem no matter what the temperature.

It has been a brutally hot summer here as well. But I will take the heat instead of the cold anytime.

Well, you asked. So, the answer is, yes! Weinies & wusses is what Yosemity Sam would call it, yessir!

Hot? It was only 100+ today at my house. No cooking outside today.

Screamin hot here also. Still doing stuff. Smoked brisket this week end. Built wheel chair ramp today. Also try to be done by noon. It has stopped my fishing though. Have not been in a month. To hot.

I designed and sited my house with the covered porch facing east to avoid the afternoon sun and wind. I get morning sun until about 10:00, then all shaded and wind protected.

                        I'm with you.

                        It's been HOT!.

I am lucky that late afternoon we have shade in the backyard cooking zone.

No judgements here, but I have been out scouting, patterning shotguns, and fishing ever chance I get. Figure if a heat stoke gets me at least I go out doing something I love.
