This U.S. City Was Just Ranked Number 1 in the World For Food Right Now!

Was cruising the CNN app and saw this. According to Time Out, haven’t heard of em myself, they surveyed thousands of people around the world to rate their city’s food scene across 18 different criteria. They also surveyed editors, food critics and chefs. More detail is in the article. CONGRATULATIONS … …….! You won’t get any argument from me!

We asked thousands of locals to rate their city’s food scene – these are the results.

Medellín surprises me. Colombia actually has a reputation for bad food! It’s like the British food of South America. Just Google “why is Colombian food so bland?” We had a Colombian restaurant here for about 6 months. I gave it a try; the only thing half decent were the empanadas, everything else was like unsalted stew. Chicken stew, beef stew, pork stew, it all just laid there.

Peruvian food (Lima ranked 11th) is incredible. Same with Argentinian.

Since the author is from London I suppose any food beyond beans on toast tastes mighty good to her.

Haha too true! My 4 year old granddaughter was watching Bluey while I "watched" her one day in my home office. The episode that I can recall included beans on toast, sardines on toast, etc. I was surprised they didn't throw Vegemite in there too...

I'll be there next week, yes going for the food. My first trip there. There just happens to be a WW2 museum there.

It's a great museum. There are so many great things to see in New Orleans. The food is second to none.

"By a fountain back in Rome, I fell in love with you
In a small cafe in Athens, you said you loved me too
And it was April in Paris when I first held you close to me
Rome, Georgia, Athens, Texas and Paris, Tennessee"

Panhead John - It will be a very cold day indeed before I ever look at anything CNN. Thanks for posting the Timeout link.

But 'Naulins' would very definitely be on the top of my food city bucket list should I decide to make one. In my 82 years of eating, I've never had 'bad' Cajun food. Some better than others, but never any bad.

I was going to say something snarky, but then I asked 10 professional snarkologists what they think about surveys, and they all said....watch Family Feud!

Does this mean next MeatUp will be in Nola?

Hadn’t thought about it, but probably not. Before we did the MeatUp in Louisiana, New Orleans was tossed around along with Lafayette. General consensus was that Lafayette was a little safer choice, along with their own quality of food and activities made it a better choice for “our crowd”.

            Definitely Lafayette over Nola.

Liuzas has been our spot for years. Planned on going when Im there next month.
Another one of my spots will be ruined bc it made some dumb list.

I love NOLA. Will be there in a couple weeks.
But I think Houston can give it a run for it's money.

Interesting list for sure. Love New Orleans and the food scene there. Kind of surprised that New York, Tokyo, and London didn’t make the list. Lots of new places for me to want to travel to see!
