We moved every couple of years and Dad was always away on business. Honestly I don’t have any memories growing up of bbq/grilling. Then in my early 20s I became a vegetarian. Forget it! Well, after 10 years I got divorced and started eating meat again. Suddenly my life was full of joy again. But it wasn’t until I met my second wife, and bought a house that I, in a manly pique, bought a grill. First thing I ever cooked on it was chicken. I burnt the crap out of it. Undaunted, but concerned my manhood credentials were about to lapse, I bought the America’s Test Kitchen grilling book in order to do some research. My outdoor cooking improved immeasurably. Years later I joined this thing called The Pit so I could learn how to bbq.
