Strange food/recipe dream

Remember, we don’t get to control these.

In this dream there were three levels of foods. I don’t know why. The first level was something fancy. Like fancy French pastry type stuff. Tarts, macarons, colorful tiered things. All fancy, like magazine photos.

The second level was brisket. In the dream it smelled good, and tasted good.

The third level was undefined. In the dream I was both responsible for this layer, and also an observer of it. So this level became a recipe for a tailgate/game day party.

Make a dozen grilled hot dogs, using white buns, not potato rolls. Pack them closely together in an oiled Pyrex baking dish. Like really jammed in there, like tamales or enchiladas. Sauté some finely chopped onions, and cover the hot dogs, and squirt a line of yellow mustard down each dog. Top the baking dish with chili and shredded cheese, and bake it in the oven @ 350° until heated to 165° in the center. The rolls should take all the excess liquid out of the chili, so you should be able to cut this chili dog lasagna into 2”-3” squares. And serve it that way.

I would totally make this.

Interesting dream, I usually (if I remember) dream about going to class with curlers in my hair, or giving a lecture while my teeth are slowly falling out. Probably some pathology there on my part.

I had a food dream, mostly a grocery-shopping dream... my wife sent me to the store to buy butter trout. Yeah, not sure what butter trout is supposed to be, but it might grill up good! In dreamland no one else knew what butter trout was either. I was so mad going to different stores and no one had butter trout.

Alan Brice my first job outta school was construction laborer building a hospital. The guys sent me to the tool crib to find a stud stretcher. They said 'if it's not there walk around and ask the guys, someone has it so keep asking around and they'll get it for you'...thankfully I was wise to that and didn't fall for it but I could see how it would be funny.
