I didn't even know I was subscribed to emails from Combustion, but if you are not, I found this video by Chris Young over at Combustion pretty interesting. I know RonB posted something a while back, but this is a new video from Combustion on the subject.
He literally starts with a turkey cooked FROM FROZEN. Not sure what you do about the big block of ice or giblets inside - I guess rinse under water long enough to get that stuff out, or else he has turkeys that don't come with that.
However, he cooks steaks from frozen, using deep frying to put a crust on. All sorts of stuff I would NEVER have thought of.
I've done meat on the grill from frozen, but had not considered some of the techniques he shows here - like putting frozen chicken in a skillet with a little oil.
