The US Army KILLED my palate. First meal, cold, fried liver and cold french fries (it was at 3 AM Texas time just after we got to basic). Coffee served in 55-gallon drums using immersion heaters - just dump the grounds in, fill with water and heat. C-rats using C-4 to heat (if any). So, I may be able to discern flavors, but you eat when you can and what is served - thank you Ma'am!
