When will I ever learn?
I made pork belly burnt ends and then decided to do burgers in my Traeger.
It is not good to turn up the temperature on the grill before cleaning out a butt load of pork fat.
No flames, but a lot of off-putting smoke.
There are so many stories with pellet grills of this starting a grease fire. While I know you clean your grill.....its those that don't that usually get the huge fire. All that built-up grease.....then the infusion of a massive amount through pork-something and then searing burgers or a steak next. Ouchy.
I make a foil boat to go below the grates to collect the grease. My diffuser set up is sloped towards the drain so shallow boat at one end and them larger walls at the rear. Once everything cools down its simple clean up
