Another old newspaper recipe (or not)

I’m going to wait for someone else to try this before investing in a large enough pot. Click image for larger version

I’d start with a small camel first. When I first cooked a medium size camel, I could barely get it through the door. Also don’t believe the hype, farm raised camel is just as good as wild caught.

I think I need some diagrams on how to butcher a camel first. Chop off legs, I got, but the rest is kinda hazy. I am sure gboss has probably done this already with a rusty knife in the middle of the Sahara while muttering over classification numbers.

If you boil your camel, who wins?

And how big of an oven does this person have: "Broil in large oven until brown."

Was this the April 1 edition of whatever newspaper this is?

26+ pounds of rice, hundreds of pounds of animal protein, and yet you still, "salt to taste."

I’ll bet eating a camel is just like eating an elephant, take a bite, chew, swallow, and repeat until you have eaten the whole elephant.

You can boil the camel in a regular-sized stock pot. All you have to do is to get it to stick its nose in, and then we know it's all over after that.

              Does this work for cows?

Dromedary or Bactrian?!? I HATE it when people are not specific when writing recipes. Like you can just go around cooking ALL camels the same way.

Also, this recipe doesn't mention it, but there are people who will walk thousands of miles not to boil, but to SMOKE Camels. My paternal grandfather was a regular practitioner of smoking Camels.

He claimed it wasn't the tobacco that killed people, it was the cigarette filters. So he smoked non-filtered Camels from age 9 to 74. He died at 74 from kidney failure. It was probably related to smoking. He was a fun guy and I miss him. WWII vet.

And yet no one has noticed that the crab cakes recipe starts with a pound of baked fish!

You didn't give me enough time. I was heading to the comments to mention that. At least they didn't include bell pepper!

I think it goes squarely in the category of "(or not)"

Does an international cookbook include a recipe for stuffed camel?

Personally, I find the little star amusing as well. Like some fool really starred this one with a real plan to make it later.
