Hopefully, the lawsuit results in the stripping away of the trademark altogether.

according to the Ted Talk video, it could be a case of a Larger Organization trying to force a Smaller Organization to give up something that has been theirs for a number of years. (in the talk, it was suggested that Taco John's was a "large organization", but they're anything but that) It's not Taco Bell's fault that they didn't think of it first.

All they gotta do is change the spelling to Taco Twosday and re-trademark it and give us all 50% off tacos every Tuesday. Two problems solved in one fell swoop.

I'm pretty sure another fast food chain has been advertising Twosdays for a while now, maybe KFC but not 100% sure...

Nah, just a turkey sammich on wheat. Too much to gather for a single person to have tacos. Then next week I'll be told to wrap and rest my tacos.....

I had Thai Tuesday instead. Tacos were on Sunday.

JLR - yup, the Super Bowl reference is a good one. The NFL is super super strict about how that term can or can't be used in advertising. Hence all the various "Big Game" promotions.

Ditto everything surrounding March Madness or the Olympics. Can't use those terms for casual advertising/promotions without getting slapped

If it was that important to Taco Bell, they wouldn't have waited 20+ years to realize they had an issue.

UPDATE: Taco John's is dropping their lawsuit against Taco Bell's trademark infringement in what is being called a truce.

(Basically, it came down to "let's not give lawyers any more money than necessary")

Taco John's is donating money to a restaurant-focused charity, and has decided to abandon the trademark
