    BUGS.

    Which ones would you eat?

    #2
There's too much easy access to good, non-chill-inducing, food for me to try bugs. I don't care if it's covered in $100 bills, ain't eatin' bugs unless I'm in a Survivorman situation and I have to in order to survive, then I'd hope there were at least chocolate ones.

So I actually would favor the non-chocolate bugs because I think the texture would be more palatable versus eating an actual bug-shaped bite. Maybe just me.

Well season fried grasshoppers with a hint of smoke, maybe, if it were life or death, and even then, I might not. My kids ate them on a mission trip in Oaxaca and said they were good.

My wife has some cricket powder she has cooked with. As someone squeamish as a kid, I'm game to try most things now. That tarantula looks great! Talk about presentation.

I think I've eaten everything in that article except tarantula, dragonfly, stinkbug, and nightcrawler. Gotta up my game, I guess.

Ive had grasshoppers and crickets a bunch of different ways. The 2 things on that list that are a hard no for me would be the cicadas and the stink bugs. Cicadas just creep me out.

Nope. If I had to eat them in a survival situation, I would make an effort to make them unrecognizable as bugs before I ate them. It's well known by my wife and kids that if someone decides to talk about something disgusting at the dinner table I'm either leaving or giving someone an earful right quick.

For some reason I have no problem with crickets or grasshoppers but the mealworms would be a hard no.

My dad talks about having to eat grubs and bugs while doing survival training in the army back in the day, but it was sure not incorporated into the household diet when I was a kid, thankfully! I'm a hard pass unless its a survival thing.

                      Sea Bugs, of course
Shrimp, crab, lobster, and crawdads--freshwater bugs too.

Hey, I will try anything once.

I've had grasshoppers and crickets in Mexico and Honduras. They were good. I had no problem with it. Don't be afraid to think out side the box and try new things, you might surprise yourself. If nothing else, it keeps life interesting.

As for the stink bugs, I would pass on those, but only because I am at war with them and I hate them with an undying passion. I would rather watch them burn than eat them. I feel like I get an extra win when I can hit them with my torch. Same goes for ticks.

Giant Eagle franchise Market District has bacon flavored crickets among the candy section. They're tasty but too expensive for me to eat regularly.
