"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." ~Benjamin Franklin
I've made that recipe several times, it makes good chicken but I don't think it is THE recipe. The Sanders had another restaurant after selling KFC and I think this was used at that restaurant.
Check out this video, he has talked with people associated with KFC and has an ingredients list (but no measurements):
I posted about this awhile back using the mixes from the video: https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...before-the-70s
EDIT: Grace's Perfect Blend is now available in the US - it is a little cheaper than having it shipped from Ireland: https://sapidumfoods.com/
The Marion Kay 99-X seasoning is pretty good too and can be used to season anything.Last edited by 58limited; February 11, 2023, 10:16 AM.

That could be, 58limited. There is a place called Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, KY that they went all-in on after KFC was sold. The chicken is similar to KFC, but quite a bit better than the fast food version. https://www.americanrestaurantshelbyville.com/about/

Steve R. The 'leaked' recipe posted by the Chicago Tribune is quite good. I've made it several times. I save and reuse the seasoned flour by running it through a fine mesh sieve. I reuse it as an all purpose breading. I had to switch to powdered thyme, oregano, and basil since the sieve would filter out the whole versions.

Believe it or not I just tried the recipe IFZBC originally posted last Sunday. Although it was very good. Definitely not KFC.
I will add that using the buttermilk, which is what they use, really made it a bit messy getting all the chicken breaded. Think I had more on my hands than the chicken at the end of the process. But again overall it tasted very good.

I've seen a few of these so called "secret" or "leaked" recipes and while good recipes they're never truly it in my epxerience and the comments here solidify my pessimism.
Maybe this is common knowledge, maybe not, but supposedly only a select few humans know the actual recipe, and stores get the batter/dredge/mix whatever you choose to call it sent to them in 2 separate bags from 2 different suppliers to mix, so no one who works there or at the factories making the batters knows the full recipe.
Maybe someone who works/ed there could verify this?

It is likely not real, according to the Chicago Tribune. Doesn’t mean it won’t work or isn’t tasty. Just that it’s likely not KFC’s:
(In a subsequent phone interview with a Tribune editor, Ledington dialed back his certainty and expressed reluctance about sharing a recipe that — if it's legit — ranks among corporate America's most closely guarded secrets. "It could be; I don't know for sure," he said about the handwritten list of ingredients, adding that this was the first time he'd shown it to a reporter. "I've only had that album for four years, since my sister passed away.")
