Trip Advisor’s Top American Cities For BBQ….You Tube Review Of This List 😂

Several months ago we had someone here post an article and a map TripAdvisor put out. The map showed “The Top American Cities For BBQ”. 🙄 This article and the map was almost universally condemned by the members here…even by some of the folks who lived in one of those cities named as best. I know we already discussed this before, but I just ran across this video made by some dude on YouTube. It’s pretty funny in spots and thought I’d share it with you. Hope you enjoy it.

Can't get into heaven if you put chili on your spaghetti.

The city of Cincinnati is hell-bound, I'm afraid. But I do love me some Skyline!

I will have the biggest cooler down there!

Love it! Good response to that atrocity of a ranking. As I seem to recall, Memphis wasn't even on the list.

And I think that there probably is some really good BBQ in St. Louis. Isn't that were burnt ends originated?

KC claims to have invented burnt ends. That is what I have always heard anyway. Especially while in KC. specifically, Arthur Bryant's

Spinaker yeah that was the place I was thinking of - pretty sure I read it here on the free side of AR, in one of Meathead's articles.

Oh good, that is not Panhead John in the video.
Portland Oregon has BBQ if you count the riots and fire bombings. There is a historic church burning, breaking news, tonight as I type.

I’ve seen several of his videos lately, some of his takes on Southern Weather are pretty good.

Love it! Thanks for finding and sharing that PJ. With deepest apologies to my Charlotte Pit friends, I have to disagree about Charlotte being a BBQ destination. I’m sure they may have some good Q restaurants but it’s not the spiritual home to any kind of Q like Lexington, NC or many small towns in eastern NC, like Ayden, Greenville, Wilson, etc.

Very funny video. Matt Mitchell puts out some great videos by himself and with the Its A Southern Thing team.

As I recall, Trip Advisor used google search data to pick the cities. Didn't occur to them that travelers were googling BBQ joints in those areas because those areas are not featured in national BBQ media - because there aren't any there! (with a couple of exceptions - Charlotte and KC).
