We were going to host a small family group but then it merged into a big one at another home. All I have to do is make mashed potatoes. Kind of relieved to let somebody else take charge for once!

I am in charge of mashed potatoes too, and the sweet potatoes, a Turkey I am smoking and stuffing.
I make very decadent Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The original recipe suggested equal parts of potatoes, heavy cream and butter, than salt to taste. I don't add guite that much cream or butter but I put in a lot and add plenty of garlic. They are crowd pleasers for sure. My candied yams/sweet potatoes are worse with heaps of butter and brown sugar, salt, than topped with marshmallows I brown at the end. Happy Thanksgiving.
