Jacob Burton has a lot of great free content at Stella Culinary, both written and videos. A good site to learn how to cook, not just to get recipes. I found him a few years ago when I was looking to cook a tri tip on a weber for the first time.

Thank you,I’m not interested at all in recipe’s, I’m looking for people who when writing about a food experience can make you want to figure it out on your own.

I had to edit this to include Meathead. I actually follow him on Twitter too.

I recently ran across this writer, who looks promising. Many memoirs published in addition to this book. Anyone read her books?

Riechl is great. She was the NYT restaurant critic for years and talks about the lengths she went to in order to disguise herself so she'd get the same treatment as others. Great writer.

Richard Olney wrote several lovely books on French food. https://www.goodreads.com/author/sho....Richard_Olney

Angelo Pellgrini did the same for Italian food and his book The Unprejudiced Palate is a classic. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...NL4gCTN&rank=1

Michael Ruhlman has published a number of books, specifically about his time in culinary school. I may have three or four in the closet still and would be happy to pay them forward if you would be interested.
