    Eventually, you'll do this in one of your recipes..... (bay leaves)

    I keep all of my recipes in OneNote and I was getting a shopping list together when I noticed I used a particular style of writing for this one particular recipe step:

    Teehee.....I'm sure you can guess why I went back and put step eight in all caps. Bay leaves, as Alton Brown once said, are not good eats.

      Nothing better than biting down on a bay leaf in my gumbo! 😉

    I always count how many Bay Leaves I put into something, and pick them out before I serve it. Never had a problem.

      Uhmm...you are supposed to leave ONE in the food. Whoever gets it in their serving has to do the dishes.

        When I made my hamhock soup the other day, I put 2 bay leaves in... couldn't find the second one. Had to remove the hocks, still couldn't find it, ended up having to pour through the colander into a new pot and there it was

          They do hide very, very well. When I last did red beans and rice, I was astonished out much I had sift over everything in there just to find a leaf -- a thing completely unlike everything else in there!
