I usually plan my weekday meals while I’m at the grocery store, based on whatever catches my eye. I’ll usually plan ahead for at least one weekend meal.

SheilaAnn I know I know but old habits….

As for the Raspberry Jalapeño Jelly…it’s amazing. This stuff is my favorite and made just down the road and sold at Whole Foods. Let me know if you can’t find any you like and I’ll send you a jar.

Just to show that my planning isn’t fool proof…The Daughter, proving she’s her mothers child, called an audible on tonight’s chicken spaghetti. To redeem herself she brought home an amazing loaf of brioche she made in class today!

That looks amazing. I just happened to bake a couple of brioche loaves myself today. I'd sure like to be in that class with her. Nothing like hands-on, experiential learning.

I’ll plan out Sunday - Thursday meals usually on Thursday after we are done with dinner.

The new sales at our local grocery stores come out on Wednesday and Thursday.

I’ll plan our meals based on what’s on sale.

I go grocery shopping Saturday mornings.

Friday is usually pizza night or we will go out for a fish fry.

Saturday night is pizza night if we didn’t have it Friday or we go out to dinner.

We plan about half a week at a time, primarily for the purpose of grocery shopping. It also helps to know when leftovers should be thrown out.

Planning? What the heck is that? I plan on getting up in the morning, and that may be questionable. Since it is just me these days, if I am working from home, u try to remember to take something out if the freezer in the am. If I have to go to the office, I usually pick something up because I inevitably don't get home before 7 or 8. Maybe if i ever retire I'll get into the planning thing...

WayneT, I am working on next year. God willing and the creek don't rise as my uncles used to say

klflowers Never look back. Don't ever look back. I planned my retirement over a 5 year period, running numbers about every 6 months. Then, when it was time, I never had any second thoughts and have loved every moment of being gainfully UNemployed and doing the things I'd dreamed of for years. I hope it works out as well for you.
