    Crushed Nut's.

Since joining the Pit there have been some changes to my menu language. Some violence has crept into my food descriptions.

There's crushed nuts, smashed burgers, smashed avocado and smashed potatoes. As for avo's and 'tatoes, in my pre Pit days they were mashed not smashed.
We in South Africa are also taking on words other nations have applied to food. The word "pulled" for instance is what I knew as shredded beef, lamb or pork. Today it's referred to as pulled. It's the same thing so it doesn't really matter which word we use.
Perhaps "pulled" is a little sexier.

Not sure if there's a point to pull out of this.

I do know that seeing the words "crushed" and "nuts" in the same sentence gives me an uneasy feeling...

I was having Bonsey "Corn, Daddy?" flashbacks with that title.

    There's always "smushed".

A word we don't want to see on a menu? "squished"

Around these parts some people get mighty particular about the difference between pulled, shredded, and chopped when it comes to pork at least. To me it's all bbq pork but whatever, I generally call it pulled pork.
