I have a set of his original emrilware. After about 12 years of HARD use one has a separation form in it. Other that that they are all going strong. If they are anything like his emrilware (made by allclad I think) they are quality tools.

I think it was America's Test Kitchen that did a video on non-stick pans and their conclusion was that nothing stays non-stick. Their recommendation was to buy inexpensive non-stick 'cause you're gonna be replacing it not to far down the road.
I've been using a couple Oxo non-stick pans for several years now and am happy with them as far as non-stick goes.

Ronaldf123 Yeah, as some people say it’s a good "lawnmower beer". I know there’s a LOT of better tasting beer out there than Coors Light. I don’t take myself too serious about my choice in beers though. But, I do like to give bbqLuv occasional grief about his drinking PBR. 😂

Oh, Panhead John I dread what you said in this thread. I find it a yawn to respond before dawn.

I have slowly been purchasing All clad stainless D3 as they are on clearance with seconds, etc. I have only had them a few years now. But, I use them on the grill, on the stove, in the oven.. if these are seconds with defects, I can’t find one yet. Me I have bought about 6 items so far I personally like the lid fit on the All Clad, another brand I would seriously look at is Tramontina, Kenji has some positive on those as well.

For non-stick I’ve had really good luck with T-Fal….bought this frying pan at Walmart 5 years ago for about $20. Still works and looks like new. I can fry an egg on it with no bacon grease or butter…if I wanted to. Pretty sure they’re more expensive now. If you don’t turn the heat up all the way with non stick, they’ll last a long time. I never cook past medium to medium high on my electric cook top.

Two words: Carbon. Steel.
I used to use nonstick stuff, but thought about it this way... The coating gets worn. Where does it go? Into the food. Do I want to eat nonstick coating? No.
Carbon steel, if you season it and use a bit of oil, is very close to the performance of non-stick. I have some stainless but you can't season it so I use it for different stuff.

All Clad has their "seconds" sales periodically and a few of us will post that here, keep a lookout for that. It seems about time for that to happen again, BTW. Very high quality, made in the USA cookware at much less than retail. And get that CI pan!!
