Looking for recipes that use BEER!

Many years ago when Yuengling was first sold in Ohio me an a buddy went to a five course dinner where each course was made with a different Yuengling beer.

    The courses were as follows
    Beer cheese fondue
Salad with a vinaigrette made with beer
    Beer battered fish taco
    Beer braised short ribs
Chocolate cake made with beer frosted with a beer frosting

I’m in the early planning stages of doing a dinner this late spring or early summer where I want to use beer for every dish.

I’m looking for any tested / made recipes that use beer where you can actually tell beer was used. I’ve searched the internet and found many recipes but I’m looking for ones you all have made and really enjoy.

    Thanks for any recipes

    Steve

Great post, PBR great. I don't have one but there is a multitude on the internet.
I look forward to the many responses. More reasons to buy beer.
Thank all of you in advance.

The link goes straight to Guinness, who has multiple recipes.

I have subbed dark beer for water in bread, (usually Dos XX Amber), and it works well.

We’ve made Guinness Pudding in the past ( more of a custard ) to great response.

this is not the exact recipe we used, but the concept is very similar. Bonus points for it looking like a Guinness in the end.

Editor's note: This recipe was developed by Shane Philip Coffey, the chef at Alias restaurant on New York City's Lower East Side. This rich and luscious dessert came about because I needed a special dessert for a St. Patrick's Day tasting menu. I was on a mission to use my favorite beer, Guinness, something I consider to be one of Ireland's gifts to the world. As the 17th of March drew closer, I looked for inspiration at my favorite Irish pub in Manhattan. As I savored my pint, I saw a Guinness poster that said, "My Goodness, My Guinness!" It was like an angel sang in my ear: "What if you combined a dark chocolate pudding and Guinness, topped it with whipped cream lightly flavored with Guinness, and then put it in a glass to make it look just like a pint of the black?" After a few failed attempts, I got it just right. Make the effort to find a good dark chocolate (about 70 to 72 percent cacao). The better the chocolate, the creamier the dessert. And, unless you have an Irish pub next door where you can pull it straight from the tap, a 14.9-ounce can of Guinness Draught works best.

What about mussels in a beer broth?. Definitely get a beer flavor there, and not your typical fried or braised dish.

I make homemade pancakes and waffles for the kids every weekend. I put a Bud Light in homemade pancakes once. Keyword: once. Found a recipe online that looked ok. It wasn’t the worst thing…..tasted like a ritz cracker.

like what RonB said Beer and bread are kindred souls. Some sort of bread. Oh oh oh……. Homemade pretzels with beer cheese.

oh oh oh…. Welsh rarebit? That has beer, right?
