Anyone making Japanese style hot dogs?

This is something I have been thinking about for a while but haven't done yet. Looks like an easy and delicious treat.

This looks incredible. That is the great thing about hotdogs, so many variations!

I like them with ketchup and mustard. Add onions and we are golden. I could care less what is traditional or not. LOL. It's a hot dog! Henrik

I like diced white onions and mustard. I also like dill relish and mayo.

Honestly I’ve never heard of a Japanese hot dog until now. My japan knowledge is marginal.

Yeah, me neither, but I gotta say the Seoul Storm and Kyoto Fire got my attention!

This is a pretty cool idea. Not sure I see it hitting and running in NJ, but I'd eat there.

They aren't really a Japan thing. Just a Western idealization of what a Japanese hot dog might be like. I believe the concept started in Seattle many years ago. Besides, how can they really be "Japanese hot dogs" without some Kewpie on them?

They would be great for a party. I'd cut each one into small bite size pieces.

Recently there's been a taco truck setting up a few blocks away from my place. Now if we can get a Japanese dog truck on the other corner...God--I love this country!

I went to Japan a few years ago. I don’t recall seeing any hotdogs. Street food is skewered meat over a grill. At least it was in Kyoto.

Yeah, Japanese style hotdogs are a Pacifist Northwest thing. I believe it started in Vancouver and spread to Seattle and Portland.

There is a place around me called destination dogs that does something similar minus the japanese twist. Some of them are really really good although im not a huge fan of the texas toast style bun.

Great menu! They need to put one of those in Newark Airport (preferably Terminal B).
