Reminds me of a hot dog that's been deep fried at a place called Rutt's Hut in Clifton, New Jersey since 1928. "The Ripper"

Generally we smoke our hot dogs, so they typically don’t split, nor do I cut one. Interesting that it is such a thing.

Trust Me, if I think she is not right, that is when the fight begins.

I’m with smokenoob , as a matter of fact I sometimes take wagers as to where it will split. 🕶

Does that thing work good on Brats and / or Sausages too? Or more just for HotDogs?

Anything besides HotDogs it's good for?

After reading about the SlotDog more.... It sounds like it's best used on things that don't have Casings..... so that would probably rule out Brats I guess.

So are there slot regulations like fishing? If a dog is under or over the “slot” do you have to throw it back?

Do you have a tool for the spiral dogs? Have you tried the SlotDog?

I poke a bamboo skewer lengthwise through the hot dog. Starting at one end, hold the knife at an angle and roll the dog, letting the knife travel down the hot dog. No, I have not tried the slot dog.

Sometimes I do it but overall I find you get a drier dog once it's been pierced.

If you never had a ripper from RuttsHut in Clifton New Jersey with their relish, you haven't had a hotdog.
