Hey, just made my first beef jerky, wow I'm impressed it is awesome. the recipe is on the free site. I did a half a batch since being my first time. cooked on the pellet grill at 180, for about 3 hours pulled off at 145, do not like tough and charred, or brittle jerky. Man it was good. I highly recommend it.
Prepped and marinated 14 hours
Finished yum.
I have used that recipe numerous times but add a little cajun, extra black pepper and some red pepper flakes to keep it interesting then put it in my dehydrator.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Surprised you have not tried it, you most likely have everything at home to make it, only thing I had to purchase was meat and ginger. I choose to cut the meat across the grain, makes more chewable. Shelf life is not long in the fridge, but you can freeze it. Easy to make. Meathead has written excellent instructions.
