The Oscar Meyer WEINERMOBILE is no more

The Weinermobile is getting a new name: The FRANKMOBILE

It may or may not a temporary marketing thing, as Oscar Meyer wants to highlight their All Beef Franks.

A sad day indeed. A moment of silence.
Now, to start complaining again: Why are they changing the recipe? They have one of my favorite dogs.

Kim has a blue front Amazon parrot named Oscar, that will say the first verse. He quit saying the wiener part a year ago or so. LOL

At least they are not trying to make it a Francis mobile.

We can all only aspire to be the kind of parent humor columnist Dave Barry is:

        • "Never pick your child up at middle school in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile." Barry confesses that he did just that to his son when Rob was in sixth grade in 1994. Barry drove the Wienermobile for a day to write about it for The Miami Herald, where he was a columnist. "It took only three or four years for him to get over it," Barry says.

That story sounds vaguely familiar to me. I wonder if NPR picked it up, the most likely media source from which I would have heard it.

I've read a couple of Barry's books, so I'm betting that's how I was aware, although it's also possible his column was syndicated here back in the day of newspapers on paper that magically appeared at your door in the morning.

My wife's bestie, Kimmy, would do nearly anything to get the chance to drive the World famous Wienermobile.

Frankly speaking, I don’t have a beef with that idea.

Again the marketing geniuses do something stupid.
It will always be the Weinermobile to me.
