Each time you trigger the saw to stop like above, you need to replace the cartridge at $89 a pop. Of course, that's cheaper than reattaching a finger or two...

Yep. And the saw blades take a hit too. Good ones can go for $100+ and that was a couple of years ago. I haven't bought one lately. I'd still prefer the SawStop to reducing my fingers to kit form.

ComfortablyNumb Well, one of the advantages of working trauma at Harborview is the free meat for bringing home to the smoker. I only wish we had SV for the tough finger cuts back then; even low and slow can't turn those tough finger tendons into gelatin, no matter what Meathead Huskee or Spinaker tell us.
