To be honest, I don't have any kind of favorite recipe for hot dogs. For a good, safe, and very knowledgeable resource, I recommend 2 guys and a cooler on you tube. These folks know their s@$t. Their frankfurter recipe is spot on.

when you make your own hot dogs do you need to include the lips and a**holes to get that hot dog flavor?

I would bet those were awesome. Unfortunately, not gonna happen for me. When it comes to dogs or sausages - I gotta purchase, at least for now.

If you learn to make your own hot dogs, it's real difficult to buy commercial ones. Totally different from what is usually sold. I made a bunch of hot dogs for a" Family Meal" at work some time ago. This is where any interested parties, at the restaurant pitches in a couple bucks, then we use a bit of the restaurants stuff(with their blessing, natch), and make a nice bunch of food for the crew. Instead of the usual skinny and small commercial hot dogs, I made them the size of brats. They killed.I hadn't had dogs like that since I was a kid in the 60's. The homemade buns helped a bit...lol

    They do.

This Beef Hot dog is perfect for any occasion. From BBQs to Tailgating, to your next family gathering. You can cook them in an oven or on the grill!

I don't think they retail them though

Sammy, those dogs look interesting, how did they taste? And what was the casing like? It's hard to tell from a picture, I know, but those somehow look to me like they might have a pretty strong casing. I like a mild snap, but don't want to have to "chew off a bite" as I've had to with some sausages and hot links and such.
