I made these on a Sunday as well, have made them in the past but I used a grinder for the meat vs my food processor. I enjoyed the process of using the grinder for the first time. I made a few of them a little too thick so didn’t get that thin smash burger in all of them but hey were good.
I did use my cast iron griddle on the gas grill this time. In the past I used a cast iron pan or a different type of griddle and these seemed to get a great crust. I flipped on same spot as first side and still got a good crust but could see how the grease build up may inhibit that if I made an additional batch.
but the wife and kids loved them as well as the smash sauce I made to top them with! And the added green Chile!
