Burger Week 2026

It's that time of year again. Burger Week started on Monday and I got two in. Later today I plan to sample at least three.

Day 1:

Side Eye
El Royale Picante

What's On It... Smash burger patty, sesame seed bun, special sauce, onion, lettuce, American cheese, pickled jalapeño, pickles

Verdict: This was a great start even if it was served in a dog bowl. It was a real smash burger with lacey edges and the flavor was in point. 8/10

Breakside Brewery - Slabtown
The Big Dill

What's On It... A charbroiled beef patty stacked with melty American cheese, crisp shredded lettuce, our house Big Dill sauce, fresh dill pickle chips, crispy pickle fries, and crunchy pickle potato chips on a toasted bun.

Verdict: It was a disappointing one note wonder. Too bad since I had high hopes. 5/10

Boke Bowl
Sweet Chile of Mine Burger

What's On It...
Double stack fresh ground burgers, pepper jack cheese, hot and sour pickled serrano chiles, ´In & Out Style´ onions, chile crunch aioli, shredded lettuce on An Xuyen Asian brioche bun.

Verdict: This burger was excellent. The flavors were well balanced, the textures were complimentary, and I really enjoyed the pickled peppers. 8.5/10


Bunk Bar
French Onion Juicy Lucy

What's On It...
Beef and pork burger stuffed with Swiss and Gruyere cheeses and topped with more Gruyere, caramelized onion jam, and herb mayo on a squishy bun.

Verdict: Not a great burger. I think I might have liked it better than the group I was with. I'm giving it a 6/10 because at times I liked the spicing. Other people were critiquing the authenticity of the onion soup flavors but I'm not an aficionado so I don't know.

American wagyu patty, Jim Beam & Oregon marionberry barbecue sauce, Face Rock Creamery “In Your Face” pepper cheddar, pickled onions, arugula, pretzel bun.

Verdict: I will be giving it a generous 6.5/10. It had a great cheese on it and the BBQ sauce was pretty good but nothing to write home about. The bun was a little much and I though the beef was maybe a little over seasoned. One of us picked this as their #1.

The Hot Marion

What's On It...
1/4 pound smash patty with roasted jalapeño marionberry jam, smoked cheddar, arugula, and crispy fried onions.

Verdict: This one was a little disappointing since I had high hopes. I felt like the patty was under seasoned and the jalapeño marionberry jam wasn't balanced well I wanted sweet but it was tart. The smash looked good but it resulted on hard chunks of crispy burger which I did not like. We also ordered some fries since Migration has excellent fries. 6/10

What's On It...
Two house-ground beef patties, pineapple cowboy candy, cheddar cheese, crispy buttermilk onions on a soft bun.

Verdict: Fantastic burger with a generous amount of meat and cheese. The pineapple cowboy candy delivered the sweet, spicy heat I wanted.
